Ubicated in the Girardot Municipal of the State of Aragua in Venezuela, the population of Choroni have their fundamental roots in the colonial process, its population conserves the traditions brought by slaves from the African continent, that is expressed daily in their cultural manifestations, such as drums. Only 60 km by road from the capital state, it can be accesed to this tourist town by coming through the principal National Park of Venezuela, Henri Pittier, with its tropical jungle, rich in flower and fauna. Every 24th of June, a party is celebrated in honor of San Juan Bautista, an event that attracts a great quantity of people, nativs and foreigners who get together to dance the saint.
Travelling through the Venezuelan colonial past, Puerto Colombia’s attractive beaches are added, a beautiful bay which waters are opened to the Caribean Sea. A great quantity of fishermen sail the waters in boats (wooden boats), doing artisanal fishing as they comunicate other poblations, accesable only by sea, such as Chuao, the source of cacao that was valued a denomination of origin, considerated the best in the world, because of its smell and taste.
